Baskets of Blessings Day 19 by SGLY Ministry
Blessing: God’s Steadfast Love For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; Psalm 103:11 ESV Message: God’s steadfast love, His lovingkindness, is as high as the heavens towards us who fear Him! Infinite, un-ending, great, un-imaginable love towards those who fear Him. The word for steadfast love is very similar to yesterday’s word for mercy. So once again we see how blessed we are as we fear the Lord and walk in His ways. ********** Cast Off Anger and Bitterness Thought for the Day "Forgiveness is a choice. We may not be able to choose to wipe away the hurt that someone has caused but we can choose to cast off the bitterness, anger, and feelings of the need for revenge and justice. How? Trust in God, believe His word, and turn judgment over to Him. Once we let God take over, we can start to let the negative feelings go." _________________________________ Today's Word "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." (Luke 6:37 NIV) _________________________________ Today's Prayer Father, it can be so hard trying to get over the hurt that someone may have caused me but please don't let the hurt turn into long-term anger and bitterness. I will try to turn things over to You to deal with as You may see fit so I can work on moving forward in my life in a healthy, positive, and productive way. Amen. The Whisper Of God ********** Remember the Good by Victoria Osteen In life, we all face negative things, challenges and difficulties that can throw us off course. Maybe you've experienced the loss of a job or a broken relationship. Maybe some negative words were spoken over you. Instead of dwelling on those things from the past, it's important that we set our minds on things above and remember the good things that God has done in our lives. God knows that negative thoughts stop us in our tracks and sometimes they come out of nowhere! You can be driving down the street and see a billboard or a building you used to go to and suddenly all the difficult memories come flooding back. The apostle Paul said, "I'm writing to remind you…" In other words, he was saying, "We need to remember some things. We can't let our thoughts go on auto pilot. We can't fall into the temptation to dwell on the negative. We need to make the choice to focus on the good things! In the old testament, not only did they remember the good things, God commanded that they take time to actually celebrate! They had festivals and appointed times of remembrance. And truly, it wasn't a suggestion by God. I believe He knew that if His people would focus on the good, that it would lead them forward into His perfect plan. Today, don't get so busy doing life that you forget to celebrate the good. Remember your victories, successes, and joyful times. Remember, scripture tells us that he casts our sin as far is from the East is to the West and remembers them no more! If God remembers our mistakes no more, than we shouldn't either! Rather than dwelling on the past and remember the good! ********** Psalm 46:11 ‘The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.’ - How wonderful it is to know that the Lord is with us. - The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is here with us today. - He is mighty, He is all-powerful, and He is able to save us. - He is your refuge and your strength; you are not alone. PRAYER: Lord, thank You that You are with me. Right here, in this moment, You are here with me. I have a refuge, I have a place to go, because You are here with me. Amen. Kind Regards Pastor Andrew Roebert ****************************** Bible Verses 1 CORINTHIANS 12:27 NLT 27 All of you together are Christ's body, and each of you is a part of it. ***** 1 CORINTHIANS 12:4,6 NLT 4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 6 God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. ***** GALATIANS 6:10 NLT 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone -- especially to those in the family of faith. ***** “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” - Psalm 91:1-2 ***** Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12 ***** Philippians 1:19 – I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. ***** The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly. — Proverbs 15:2 ***** Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." ****************************** Prayers For Those Who Suffer God of time and of eternity, in your hands you hold the souls of the righteous, and in your heart there is room for all people; shine forth upon all who are tried in the furnace of suffering and illness, and especially on those for whom I pray today; in your grace and mercy may we know that you watch over us; bring us at the last to abide with you in love; I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ***** Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray that Christ will dwell in my heart through faith. Also, I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Amen ***** Lord God, may I comprehend the sacredness of friendship. I thank thee for my friends, and for all the beautiful influences which they bring to my life. May I never hold friendship without the sincerity to return it. Correct my faults, and cause me to learn the secret of cheerful endurance, that I may be steadfast. Amen. ***** Lord, most of us will not become well-known or be written about because of great achievements, but we will be known and loved for our attitude and the smaller ordinary things that we do that make our part of the world a better place. Inspire us, Lord, each day, to find joy in giving as well as in receiving, and lead us to act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with you, our God. Amen. ***** Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the many wonderful promises for all of Your children. I do thank you for the promise of long life, not only for me, but for all of my family members. I claim Psalm 91 over our lives. Thank you for watching over us all the time. Lord, now that I am older and have had many experiences, help me to be gracious in sharing the things that I have learned over the years. Help me to also keep my mouth shut when I should and allow others to learn from You. Thank you for helping me to grow old graciously. Lord, bless all of Your older saints who are still serving You around the world. Strengthen and protect them. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen. ***** Lord our God, we thank you that we have often felt you close to us. We thank you that you are near us and that you strengthen the weak. Remember us and give each one the help he needs to be true to his calling. Remember all mankind and grant that we may go forward in spirit and in truth. Give new light to the peoples who are still in great darkness. Let your kingdom and your reign be revealed and your name at last be honored by all. Amen.
