Precious Promises – Day 28 by SGLY Ministry

Today’s Promise: VICTORY
“He canceled the record that contained the charges against us.
He took it and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ’s cross.
In this way, God disarmed the evil rulers and authorities.
He shamed them publicly by His victory over them on the cross of Christ.” Colossians 2:14-16 NLT

Today’s Thought:
Believers, we have Victory from sin and over death.
Christ has already won the victory, and because we belong to Him, that victory is ours also. So, let’s live in the victory we have been given!
Hallelujah !!!
…overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
Romans 8:37 (NLT)
For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 1 John 5:4 (NLT)

Today’s Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for this promise of victory!
It is so exciting to see that I can live in victory daily because of my faith in Christ. All I need do is remember who I am in Christ, believe it and live it.
So when temptation knocks or fear tries to seek in, I can slam the door, because in Christ I have the victory!,
Thank You God for what You have done, what You are doing, and what You will do in my life. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57

Today’s Scripture: “But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:42, NKJV)

One Thing is Needed

In today’s world, most people find that life is full. We have over 500 channels on TV, an unlimited number of sites to browse on the internet, cell phones and PDA’s to keep us connected 24 hours a day. Everywhere you look, there is something to do or some kind of entertainment all the time. If we’re not careful, we’ll fall into the trap of thinking that we’ve always got to be busy doing something. But Jesus invites us to be still because really, only one thing is needed.

I heard somebody say one time, what if we treated our Bibles like we do our cell phones? Can you imagine people in the elevators, lobbies and shopping malls thumbing through their Bibles all day long? Can you see people reading and studying the Word while sitting in traffic and at red lights? Not that you should do that, but the point is that we need to live our lives in balance and make the Word of God a priority. Let’s make sure we don’t allow the distractions of life to keep us from the one thing that is needed.

A Prayer for Today: “Father, today I set my heart and affections on You. I choose to lay down the distractions of life and put You first because You are the one thing that is needed. Help me keep my mind focused on You as I declare Your praises throughout the day in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Joel Osteen

Let us hold firmly to what we believe

Hebrews 4:14 '...let us hold firmly to what we believe.'

- The enemy's greatest tool in our lives is doubt and unbelief.
- Doubt and unbelief are not your friends.
- We choose to believe and we hold firmly to what we believe.
- No matter what happens we should trust and believe God - He is faithful!

PRAYER: Lord, today I choose to take hold of my faith and to hold onto it with all my strength. I reject doubt and unbelief for I know the God in whom I trust. Amen.

Kind Regards

2 Corinthians 6:18 'I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.'

- Your Heavenly Father loves and cares for you.
- He calls you His sons and daughters, and think about it, you really are.
- You have an Almighty Father for Whom nothing is too difficult.
- Remain in His love, and enjoy the fact that You are His child and He cares for you.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You that You are my Father and I am Your child. Be a Father to me I pray, and help me, in the journey of life, to do what pleases and honors You. Amen.

Kind Regards
Pastor Andrew Roebert

Don’t Make Big Decisions During the Storm by Joyce Meyer

Be merciful and gracious to me, O God, be merciful and gracious to me, for my soul takes refuge and finds shelter and confidence in You; yes, in the shadow of Your wings will I take refuge and be confident until calamities and destructive storms are passed. Psalm 57:1

Life isn’t one big, long sunny day. At some point, we all face storms—whether they come in the form of unexpected illness, job loss, financial crisis, marital difficulties, problems with children, or any number of other scenarios that are stressful, intense, and important. I have faced many storms in my life—some like the quick afternoon storms that are common in summertime and some that seemed like category four hurricanes. If I have learned anything about weathering the storms of life, I have learned that they don’t last forever, and that, if at all possible, I do not need to make major decisions in the midst of them.

When the storms of life arise, it’s best to keep your mind and emotions as still as possible. Thoughts and feelings often run wild in the midst of crises, but those are exactly the times we need to be careful about making decisions. We must remain calm and discipline ourselves to focus on doing what we can do and trusting God to do what we cannot do.

Next time you face a storm or crisis in your life, I hope you’ll remember these words, which I often say: “Let your emotions subside before you decide.” Do your best to let things settle down before you make major decisions. You may not always have that choice, but as much as possible, put significant decisions on hold until your storm passes. Just as the wind blows about wildly during a storm, our thoughts can become quite wild and frantic, and that is not the best time to make major decisions.

Making this commitment will protect you from making quick, unwise decisions that could take you off the course God has for you.

Prayer of the Day: Lord, help me stay calm in the middle of life's storms. Teach me to wait for clarity before making decisions, as I You to guide me through the crisis, amen.
