Blessing: Friendship with God
The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. Psalm 25:14 KJV

Message:
The word “secret” in this verse means counsel, or intimate conversation. It would be something that was shared with a close friend or in a circle of friends. Actually, it would be like a secret that you are telling your best friend.
So, this verse is saying that the Lord shares his secrets with those who fear Him, He shows them the things He has pledged to do for us who fear Him. Therefore, this verse seems to be saying that those who fear Him are blessed with His close friendship. He is our best friend. How wonderful is that!

Jesus Will Not Forsake You

DEUTERONOMY 31:8 NASB 8 "And the LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear, or be dismayed."

Here is my favorite translation of Hebrews 13:5, done by a professor of Greek, who indicated that to understand what the verse says in the Greek, it would have to be translated like this:

HEBREWS 13:5 5 Let your manner of life be without love of money, being satisfied with your present circumstances. For He himself has said, and the statement is on record, I will not, I will not cease to sustain and uphold you. I will not, I will not, I will not let you down.

God's promise is He will never leave us or forsake us. Yet we may sometimes feel hopeless and helpless -- like we are facing life all alone. What is the truth?

Regardless of the circumstances, or how you feel, remember that God cannot lie. He is there to help you -- and He always will be.

Feelings are fickle. Just because you feel a certain way does not make it the truth. Yet we are all tempted at times to put our feelings above what God has said.

Of course the devil will tell you that God has forgotten you, or that you have committed the unpardonable sin, or anything to get you to doubt the Word of God, and give up on your faith. The devil is a liar and deceiver, but God is true to His Word and will never fail you.

God's track record is perfect. He has never failed anyone. And He will never fail you.

SAY THIS: Jesus will never, never, never forsake me.

Hurry Up and Wait

If you're like me, you better hurry up and read this e-mail; there's another 37 more unread e-mails to look through this morning - and that's after the spam filters have done their thing. Oops, make that 43 now. Then, you've still got that list of things to do this week and those that absolutely have to be done by Friday. Your calendar is so full. Life can get so hectic. We rush, rush, rush - right through it all. We wear ourselves out and miss what matters most - God.

In a hundred years, will anyone remember if you replied to their e-mail right away? In a thousand years, will the project you're working on still matter? In a million years, will God remember the time you spent talking with Him this morning? Only one of these questions can be answered with a yes. God will remember. God says, "I remember the loyalty of your youth, your love as a bride" (Jeremiah 2:2 HCSB)

Take time now to spend some time with Him. Make the time. Just sit , talk, and wait on Him to respond.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

According to ancient thought, eagles lived longer lives than other birds because they would molt their feathers in order to renew their youth and their strength. Indeed, when we take the time to sit and wait on God we are renewed and better able to use the rest of the day.

Hurry up and wait. Wait upon the Lord. You have too much to do not to.

God - I sit here now just resting in you. I have so much to do today. But being with you now and feeling your presence is what matters most. I love you so. Strengthen me for the remainder of today and help me to just be still and know that you are God. Jesus, thank you for your love and mercy. May I reflect you in all I do today and in all that I am every day. Amen.

Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’

- There are moments in our lives when we need the Lord more than ever.
- It is at these moments that we should call on Him to come and step into our lives.
- Do you need Him to come and step into your life and circumstances?
- Speak out that longing and your need and say ‘Come, my Lord and help me!’

PRAYER: Lord, I realize how much I need You in my life. I call to You and ask You to come and step into my situation and rescue, save, deliver and strengthen me. Amen.

Prayers

For the Spirit of Prayer

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, oh Lord. Let your Holy Spirit guide me in my prayer and in thought, and grant me the grace to listen and hear your Word. Soften my heart, that I may be directed by your truth, and not the devices of my body and mind. In the name of Christ I ask this, Amen.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit to be with Me This Week

In utter humility, before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses, I come before you this morning, Eternal Spirit of God, to offer myself, my soul and body to you. I live in awe of your purity, your justice, and the power of your love. You are the strength and light of my soul, for without you I have neither life nor goodness. I desire never to grieve you by unfaithfulness, and I pray with all my heart to be kept from the smallest sin against you.

Mercifully guard my every thought; and grant that I may always watch for your light, and listen to your voice, and follow your gracious inspirations. Give me grace, O Holy Spirit, Spirit of the Father and the Son, to listen first for your voice in everything I may say or do, this day, during the week to come, and always, Amen.

For Forgiveness

Almighty Father; I enter your presence confessing the things I try to conceal from you and the things I try to conceal from others. I confess the heartbreak, worry, and sorrow I have caused, that make it difficult for others to forgive me, the times I have made it easy for others to do wrong, the harm I have done that makes it hard for me to forgive myself. Lord have mercy on me, and forgive for all my sins against you and against others, through the grace of my Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Father, it is you who creates a pure heart and a steadfast spirit within me. Lord Jesus, thank You for cleansing me. You have blotted out and canceled my transgressions, and you will remember them no longer. You do not keep a record of my sin because I have truly repented and turned from my wicked ways. I am cleansed and pruned by the living word which you have given me. I will not forget all your benefits but affectionately and gratefully bless your name. You heal all my diseases and forgive all my iniquities. Thank you. Amen

Dear Lord, help me to remember that although Your grace and love are free, You really want to build a relationship with me and restore a "oneness" with You. Whether that happens or not depends upon my response, doesn't it? For only if I repent of my sins and shortcomings and want to turn my life around, will I be ready for Kingdom-living now. ... Each time I slip or stray, I need to repent anew, for faith without repentance is not truly sincere, is it?

Help me in the name of Jesus, I pray.

Gracious Father, may my heart be mindful of thee, that I may discover the truth and possess it. Steady me in my affections and save me from wandering impulses; and may I help to put wrong down and uplift humanity. Amen.

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your many blessings that You send my way each day. Thank you for the many friends that You have sent into my life. Lord, they are priceless treasures. Bless them all today. I want my life to be what You would have to be. Lord, I want You to be satisfied with me, so remove those things that are not pleasing to You. Thank you for Your daily provision. I know that when I have You, that's enough. You will take care of all the things that concern me and that I have need of. May this truth be in the hearts of all of Your children. Thank you for Your mercy and Your amazing grace. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Dear Lord, no matter how old I get I still feel young and niave. Grant me the wisdom to chose the right path. Guide me for I do not know the way.
