Blessing: Given Authority
That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many. Nehemiah 7:2 KJV

Message:
Believers, when we fear the Lord we are noticed for our faithfulness and integrity. Often we are given authority or promotions in this world because of our godly character even if that is not specifically stated as why. The fear of the Lord blesses us in many different ways in this world and in the world to come. Give thanks that as we live in fear the Lord daily we are a most blessed people!

With God, Nothing Is Impossible

John Newton, author of "Amazing Grace," wrote many other hymns as well. He pastored churches in Olney, England, and in downtown London during the late 1700s, and he usually closed his sermon with an original poem or hymn. One of Newton's lesser-known verses has been a lifelong favorite of Ruth Bell Graham's, who quotes it to friends:

Thou art coming to a King Large petitions with thee bring; For His grace and power are such None can ever ask too much.

It's all right to ask God for small favors and little blessings; He delights in doing small things. But He also said, "Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?" (Jeremiah 32:27). Jesus added, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God" (Luke 18:27).

Do you have an impossible problem? Some big needs?

Today’s Scripture: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15, NIV)

Be Thankful

As believers, we are commanded to be thankful. I believe this will happen naturally as we allow the peace of God to rule in our hearts. Peace is a choice. You don’t have to let things upset you. You don’t have to be anxious and worried. That word peace means to set at one again. When you set your mind at one with God and His Word, you will have peace. God also leads us by peace. If you don’t have peace about a decision, wait and follow the direction of the peace in your heart. Remember, when you have peace, you can’t help but be thankful! You can’t help but have a song in your heart and a spring in your step! Choose today to let the peace of Christ rule in your heart and have an attitude of gratitude toward the Lord.

A Prayer for Today: "Father, thank You for Your peace that rules my heart. I choose Your peace today and thank You for guiding my every step. I thank You and bless You for Your faithfulness to me in Jesus’ name. Amen."

Do what you need to do today.

Don't wait to receive Jesus. Don't put off doing the will of God. Don't wait to tell someone you love them.

JAMES 4:13-15 NIV 13 Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."

You don't know what tomorrow holds -- or even if you will be here tomorrow.

Keep your focus on God. Trust in Him, and do His will today.

Simple Thanks

For our restful sleep at night,

Many times I have had needs that I did not know how they would be supplied, but because I sought You for my answer, You always came through with my answers and provided for me. Lord, give all of Your children the wisdom and understanding that they need at this hour, as we live in uncertain times and we need Your guidance. Protect us from the plans of the evil one. “A Prayer For Diligence At Work”

Father, when we’re tempted to be halfhearted in our vocational work or find ourselves bored by monotonous repetition help us to find creative means that will make us even more productive and content in our work assignments. May our conduct and attitude reflect values set forth in Scripture. Make us a blessing so that we bring joy to our co-workers, supervisors, and to the workplace in general. During times of personality conflict or when disagreements arise bring to our memory the Scripture that reminds us that our primary motivation for being a good worker is that we are serving You when we are diligent in our work. Not only in our service do we want to do our best but we also ask You to keep our attitudes in check and our words uplifting in the work place. Help us to be quick to see another co-worker’s need and respond accordingly. May we be slow to judge and find fault with others. Prompt us to be faithful in prayer for our employers, supervisors, co-workers, and the business in which we serve. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Lord our God, almighty and holy One, whose glory shines upon the earth so that we may find joy in you and may live rejoicing in all your loving-kindness, spread out your hands in blessing over all men. Spread your blessing over the happy and the sad, over the courageous and the weak. Shepherd them in your love, in the great grace you have given through Jesus Christ, confirmed in us through the Holy Spirit. Do not let us men remain degraded and worthless. Lift our hearts above what is transitory, for you have given us something eternal to live by. Lord, in every need let me come to You with humble trust saying, "Jesus, help me."
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations, Jesus, help me.
In hours of loneliness, weariness, and trials, Jesus, help me.
In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles, and sorrows, Jesus, help me.
When others fail me and Your grace alone can assist me, help me.
When I throw myself on Your tender love as a father and savior, Jesus, help me.
When my heart is cast down by failure at seeing no good come from my efforts, Jesus, help me.
When I feel impatient and my cross irritates me, Jesus, help me.
When I am ill and my head and hands cannot work and I am lonely, Jesus, help me.
Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls, and shortcomings of every kind, Jesus, help me and never forsake me.
