Baskets of Blessings Day 5 by SGLY Ministry
Blessing: Avoid Troubles Blessed is the one who fears the LORD always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity. Proverbs 28:14 ESV Message: As we have seen in Day 1 those who fear the Lord are able to avoid evil, today we see that they also avoid trouble, which would stand to reason if they are able to avoid evil they would also avoid trouble. So, believers we are beginning to learn all the blessings we receive as we fear the Lord and walk in His ways. We are blessed with the Ability to Avoid Evil. We are blessed with Abundant Goodness. We are blessed with Advancement. We are blessed with Angelic Protection. We are blessed to Avoid Troubles. It is really amazing! Let’s give thanks that we know the Lord and fear Him and let us keep in mind not to harden our hearts, but to always look to the Lord for wisdom in how to live our lives daily, for in so doing we will walk in His will, not ours, and we will avoid evil and troubles. When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17 ********** Don't wait for your ship to come in. Row out to meet it. Ecclesiastes 11:4 He that observeth the wind will not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. Prayer: Invigorate me Lord, Help me to look beyond all obstacles and grant me the strength to move ahead. Remove all fear and trepidation that I may do Your will always. Amen. Author Unknown ********** Your Rear Guard Thought for the Day "As you go through the day today and take on the challenges you may face, do so bravely and keep this in mind: God has got your back." _________________________________ Today's Word "But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the Lord will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard." (Isaiah 52:12 NIV) _________________________________ Today's Prayer Thank you, Lord, for watching my back as I struggle forward. Knowing you are doing so lets me free my mind and focus on the challenges before me. Amen The Whisper Of God ********** Philippians 4:13 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. How to Think When Life Happens Every single day, we have thousands of opportunities to decide how we are going to think about what is happening to us and around us. It’s safe to say there are many times we respond out of habit—without thinking. We make instantaneous decisions in response to the good or bad things that happen to us every day—whether it’s sick kids, getting stuck in traffic, or other serious issues that threaten to overwhelm us. During tough times, it’s easy to think, I can’t do this—it’s just too hard. Watch for that type of thinking and when you recognize it, remember to replace it with a God-inspired thought like, I can do whatever I need to do because God is with me. This too shall pass. “Exchange your ‘I can’t’ thoughts for ‘I can’ thoughts and begin to say, ‘I can do whatever I need to do in life because God strengthens me.’” – Joyce Meyer Study Suggestion: Which “I can’t” belief in your life do you need to exchange for an “I can”? Write down some things you are going to put into practice to help you make the exchange. ********** Welcome to Verse of the Day! Today's Bible Verse: Jeremiah 32:17 "Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you." (ESV) Today's Inspiring Thought: Nothing Is Too Hard for God Jeremiah recognized that God is the ultimate muscle-man--he can easily out flex your greatest problem and arm wrestle your biggest need. If God made the heavens and the earth, then surely nothing in this world is impossible for him to do. What need or problem are you facing today? Who can content with your God? There is no difficulty the Lord cannot surmount. Whenever and wherever human might and skill fall short, God is able to master every opposition. ********** Live One Day at a Time So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34 Most of us have enough to handle today without worrying about tomorrow. God will give you grace for today. So often people worry about something that never happens. When you begin to think about the “what ifs,” the door opens for fear and worry. Some people worry so much that their worries become fear, and often the things people fear manifest in their life. Do not allow yourself to dread tomorrow. Just know that God is faithful. It is comforting to know that whatever tomorrow may hold, He holds tomorrow. His grace is sufficient to meet the need. Do not waste today’s grace by worrying about tomorrow. Live one day at a time and you’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish for Christ. From the book Ending Your Day Right by Joyce Meyer. ********** The night is far gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop (fling away) the works and deeds of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light. — Romans 13:12 (AMPC) Prepare to Love Others by Joyce Meyer Before your feet touch the floor in the morning, put on the full armor of God with which you can quench all the fiery darts of the enemy (See Ephesians 6:13–17). Put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and the readiness of the gospel of peace. Don’t let the devil steal your peace in the morning. Start talking to God before you even get out of bed. Tell Him, “I love You, Lord, and I need Your help today. Please strengthen me to walk in the fruit of the Spirit. Help me walk in love all day long. Help me to keep my thoughts on You, Lord.” Prayer Starter: Thank You, Father, for loving me and for helping me love others. Thank You for the way You guide and direct me as I go through my day and for the wonderful plan You have for my life. ****************************** 1 THESSALONIANS 5:18 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. ***** James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. ***** 2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” ***** For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13 ****************************** To Submit My Day to God Almighty God, who has given me life and breath, and another day: I do not know what this day might bring. For men make plans, and their plans come to naught, as you will it. Thus I take this day out of my hands and submit it to your will. Make me this day your servant, that I might find my hand at the tasks you have meant for me to do, and might do them as well as I can. For there is nothing better than a person should rejoice in his work, to your glory and for the love of his neighbors, as you have commanded us through your Son. In His name, I pray, let my day be yours, and let it be filled with goodness and faith. Amen. Meditation [What does God mean for me to do today?] ***** May the God of hope fill me and all of us with the joy and peace that comes from believing, so that we may abound in hope, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen. ***** Father, I thank You for giving me the power of choice. I roll my works upon You…and You will cause my thoughts to become agreeable to Your will. I believe that I will receive whatever I ask for in prayer in the name of Jesus. I will not be afraid; I believe that You keep Your promise because You are righteous. Father, I seek to do Your will by believing in the one You have sent. Jesus is my Lord! Amen ***** Lord, lead us to be peace-makers, building connections between individuals, focusing on what unites people rather than on what separates us and highlights our differences. Lord, it’s easy to harm relationships; instead, give us the power of your Spirit that we may build up and make new the bonds between people. Amen. ***** Dear heavenly Father, thank you for all the good things You have given us. Lord, we want to be like You, so help us do those things that bless You. May our thoughts and deeds be pleasing to You. Deliver us from the evil temptations that would cause us to fall from Your grace. Lord, set us free from all pride, greed and fear. Let us be like You and treat all men around us, fairly and justly. Keep us from manipulation, so that we obey You, no matter what the cost to us personally. Help me to always do the right thing and may the meditations of my heart be pleasing to You. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. ***** Lord our God, we are not worthy of all the mercy and faithfulness you show to us. We thank you for your love and ask you to keep our hearts united in the hope we have together for all things. Keep our hearts united, that again and again we can receive something new from your mighty hand. Keep us true to the calling you have given us. Let light shine out into the world, right into the dark places. Remember those all over the world who are sighing to you, longing that in your great and wonderful goodness light may come to the peoples and to the nations through some deed from your hand. Amen. ***** Deliver Us From Fear O Lord, we beseech thee to deliver us from the fear of the unknown future; from fear of failure; from fear of poverty; from fear of bereavement; from fear of loneliness; from fear of sickness and pain; from fear of age; from fear of death. Help us, O Father, by thy grace to love and fear thee only, fill our hearts with cheerful courage and loving trust in thee; through our Lord and Master Jesus Christ.
