Baskets of Blessings Day 20 by SGLY Ministry

Blessing: God’s Pleasure
The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy.
Psalm 147:11 NKJV

Message:
The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him. He’s pleased with and delights in those who fear Him. Isn’t is wonderful to hear that! We who live daily to honor, respect, obey, hope in His mercy and steadfast love are His delight! What a wonderful LORD we have!

God's Word

God's word is timely. When we read His word on a regular basis, He will reveal to us what we need to know. His word provides comfort. His word provides peace. His word provides instruction. His word provides love. His word provides hope. Through His word, He will reveal to us what we need at just the right time. His word will guide our steps when we allow Him into our lives.

Psalm 119:133 "Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil." (NLT)

Dear Lord, thank You for Your word. You teach us so much. You give us hope. You give us direction. When we stay in Your word, You will give us wisdom, knowledge and understanding. When we stay in Your word, You will reveal to us what we need at just the right time. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God's word will give us just what we need at just the right time.

God's word will help us know what His will is for us.

God's word can give us renewed hope when we have lost hope in this world.

God's word can give us peace and comfort despite the turmoil and pain all around us.

God's word will be fulfilled in His way and by His timing.

Luke 1:20b "For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time." (NLT)

Focus: Go to God's word. Read it. Learn it. Apply it. Know His word will stand the tests of time.

Moving Out of the Past

Thought for the Day

"Learn from the past - don't live in it. If you get stuck there how can you move forward towards what God has in store for you?"

Today's Word

"Jesus replied, "No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62 NIV)

Today's Prayer

Help me move forward, Lord, by teaching me to turn justice over to You for the hurt that others have caused me in the past. Holding on to feelings that are negative in nature only keeps me stuck from moving forward and realizing the abundance that You have in store for me. Amen

The Whisper Of God

Arise each morning anew

Arise each morning anew and begin each day afresh.

By the power of forgiveness, yesterday's troubles and woes vanish away and the result is peace in your heart that enables you to greet each new day with a new beginning.

Forgetting that which is past let us then press forward and onward serving the Lord with abounding faith and joy resulting in our lives being filled with many fond memories and victories.

By dwelling on yesterdays problems and mistakes we become like unto a man who drives his car down the road sitting backwards in the seat looking at where he has been rather then where he is going.

Brethren, keep your eyes on where you are going, (Gods Kingdom) and not on where you have been.

"A Forgiving Heart"

“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32 NKJV

It is very difficult to forgive someone who has hurt you. Many times ugly thoughts of revenge creep into your mind and cause much trouble. Jesus said, "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses." (Mark 11:25). And He set the example on the cross, praying, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." (Luke 23:34).

But you may say, "I don't feel like forgiving that person. How can I, when he has mistreated me so badly?" Consider what the hymn writer, William Cowper, wrote: "Alas! If my best Friend, who laid down his life for me, were to remember all the instances in which I have neglected him, and to plead them against me in judgment, where should I hide my guilty head in the day of recompense? I will pray therefore, for blessings on my friends, even though they cease to be so, and upon my enemies, though they continue such."

When you allow unforgiveness to fester in your heart, it will contaminate your entire body, causing melancholy and depression. It can even cause physical illness. You remain a prisoner of the person who has hurt you. I have found that forgiveness does not always come immediately, but often is a process that may take some time to accomplish. When you have the faith and courage to ask God to make you a channel of his forgiveness, his selfless love will finally melt your hate and anger. You will be free to enjoy the abundant life once more.

Lord, I ask for your forgiving love to flow through me, ridding me of all my angry and vengeful thoughts. Amen.

The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, – Luke 4:18

Jesus came to preach the good news. He didn’t have a message of defeat and discouragement, rather He preached the good news. What was this good news that He preached? It was a message of freedom. He told those who were captive they could be free.

This is good news. This means that no matter what you’re facing, Jesus has a message of freedom for you. If you are discouraged, Jesus has your answer. If you’re fearful, Jesus has what you need. If you struggle with low self-esteem, Jesus tells you that you have worth. Whatever you struggle with, Jesus is your freedom.

No matter what you’re facing, Jesus is your freedom – @studentdevos

This is the good news of the gospel. It’s that Jesus is the answer to what you’re searching for. He’s the answer to your problems, and if you’ll let Him into your life, He’ll be the peace you need and solution for any situation you face.

Pray: Jesus, I thank you that you have the answer to everything I’m facing. I ask you to bring me peace and help me through these uncertain times. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Isaiah 41:10 ‘Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.’

- Right now, in the midst of what you are facing, the Lord is with you.
- He says: ‘I am with you, I am your God and I will strengthen and help you.’
- If you have this guarantee, what do you need to fear?
- He says: ‘Don’t be discouraged and don’t be afraid.’

PRAYER: Lord, thank You that You are with me. Thank You that You are my God. How blessed am I to know these wonderful truths. I choose hope over discouragement and courage over fear. Amen.

Kind Regards
Pastor Andrew W Roebert

1 John 4:13-15 We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.

Father, I pray that I may be filled with the love of God. You are able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to your power that is at work within me. To you goes all the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

*****

Lord God, I do earnestly pray that thou wilt give me strength to break away, if I may be trying to free myself from habits that mar my character. May I not lose courage and fall back in the old ways, but by faith be led where I should go. Amen.

*****

Dear heavenly Father, thank you for being patient with me in times past, when I know my sins caused You grief and anger. Help me to have the same kind of patience and love toward those who cause me to be angry. Lord, I choose to love them, and thank you for Your power to demonstrate that love. Father, I do forgive all who would sin against me and I ask You to bless them with the knowledge of Your love and truth. Lord, I pray especially for all my brothers and sisters in the Lord. May we all walk in Your love and forgiveness toward each other so that the world may see Your love in us and as they witness this love, may they desire to know You, the God of love. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Building Up Each Other

Dear Father, giver of great joy, I hope that in my effort to get others to live for you that I will never lord it over their faith. Help me work with them for their joy. Let them stand firm in freedom in their faith. Help my contacts with them not cause pain, but let my joy be their joy, and let their joy be my joy! Help us to work together in a common goal in the Lord. Help us work for each other's upbuilding in holiness. In the name of Jesus and in full confidence of salvation through him I ask all these things. Amen.

*****

Lord our God, give us your Spirit, we pray, that we may learn to understand what we are and what tasks you have set for us. We thank you for all the light you give us. Grant that we and many others may come closer to knowledge of the truth and be at peace about all that belongs in your hands, our Father in heaven. Keep us now and forevermore in your almighty hand. May we know your goodness and the blessing it brings. For through your goodness we can endure even the hardest days and be victorious in the battle of life. Amen.

Seeking Healing From God

O God, the source of all health: So fill my heart with faith in your love, that with calm expectancy I may make room for your power to possess me, and gracefully accept your healing; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
