Default Forgiveness Sets Us Free

Forgive
Forgiveness sets me free.

If I feel disconcerted or disconnected, I look within to see what changes I can make in order to reconnect with peace of mind. Often, I can heal the disconnect by doing my forgiveness work.

I will never have true freedom without forgiveness. Forgiving another lightens my burdens, and it propels me toward my goals. I forgive others remembering, as Jesus did, that in absolute truth, “... they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). When I see another from this perspective, it is so much easier to let go of the resentments I held.

I also forgive myself for what I did or did not do that caused another, or even myself, pain in any way. I made a mistake. I own up to it, and when possible I make amends. Forgiveness sets me free.

Your sins are forgiven.—Mark 2:5
