Really liked this. I always believed that I had to go to the Giver in order to receive and get. It is never about the gifts, because most times I don't know what I am going to get.
The difference over my life has been that personal relationship with my God.
The gifts are priceless. You can't put a price on a sun beam, a flower, or running into an old friend, and the list goes on and on. As my meditation said one day, "Give thanks it is on it's way." I didn't know what it was, but I said, "Thank you, thank you, thank you." It ended up money and two bags of groceries to baby sit my fiend's daughter for the weekend. She was a special gift, so smart and so gifted, and she grew up as an AA baby.
Some times we pray and ask, but are not open to receive, especially if it comes in a form we don't want to recognize or accept.
I don't expect anything, I just ask that it be given. Who am I to know what someone actual needs? I may think I know what I need, but there just might be a lesson or an experience that I need to go through, a new awareness, a spiritual change, a new knowing, and I may need to let go of a barrier, that blocks me from getting what I need, be it from God or others.
Let us all have a little talk with our God. He will see you through.
