You Are Worthy

"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." Revelation 4:11

These words of worship will one day flow from all the mouths of all creation. When God created man, the relationship between God and man was something quite special. Sin entered the world and totally destroyed that relationship. Instead of God reigning on the throne of man's heart, sin took God off and replaced him with Self. The rest is history. The world has been seeking to correct this for over 2000 years, but going about it in all the wrong ways. When Self sits on the throne, which rightfully belongs to God, the whole course of our lives is out of sync. The things we pursue in the effort to make ourselves happy, we don't find fulfilling. There is a void in our lives, one we can't seem to fill. Until we make the decision to remove Self from the throne in our lives and replace him with God Almighty, there will be no true joy in our lives and the emptiness will remain. When God is once again in his rightful place in our lives, there is cause for great rejoicing! Worthy is he to receive glory and honor and power! We will know this with confident assurance, and worshiping him will become of utmost importance in our lives!

Father, we are so sorry for the times that we have allowed Self to sit on the thrones of our lives, the throne that belongs to you alone. Help us, Lord, to sink to our knees that you might rise to the throne in our hearts. We want that very special relationship that you have with your Son. Continually remind us that you belong on our thrones! We pray for the day when all your creation will understand and act on this knowledge. We long for the day when all mankind will join us in praising you, saying, "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power!" Amen
