It's Been Awhile My Friend


It's been awhile since I saw you last
I had left the house to escape the past

They say you can't run from the life that you've lived
However this time I had nothing left to give....

I left running from the crap that I had done
I saw you across the street as I left the house in the sun.

It has been almost 10 months that I moved away
I hadn't seen you at all until yesterday....

I moved away from the place that I lived in a single room
All those months there and not seeing you!

Than I came here on Friday very late at night
You couldn't see anything really for it was already turning dark....

I tried to sleep but the parties kept me up all night
I tried to get on the Internet but my monitor got broke and fried!

I woke up fairly early on that Saturday morning just two day ago
I didn't know what I could do cause I was once again broke....

I went outside to sit on the new steps in front of my place
Looking into the Sun, Drinking my Coffee, Reading my meditations my heart started to race....

I looked up to reflect on my reading that was putting my mind to ease
And can you believe what I saw! Yes my Friend the Squirrel with which I had much please.....

There he was across the street jumping from the house to the tree,
And Oh My God he had a friend with him, Oh how much can he be free....

They both got on the house and I could swear they were looking at me
Saying, You are OK just have faith in Me
