I am now real
I knew I had a problem but never wanted to admit because I did not want to change. I now totally acknowledge I have a drinking problem and I am an alcoholic. The worst is I am a functional alcoholic making me feel nothing is wrong. Truth be told I am sick and need help. I am willing to stop. I am willing to seek help. Eddie M

Welcome and thank you for sharing Eddie. I can identify, I too was a functional drunk and always pointed the finger at them. Then I realized, if I was with them, matched them drink for drink, and they were alcoholic, what makes me think I am different, just because I can walk a straight line. Self honesty is not easy.
Hope you will continue to come and share your journey with us. http://www.animated-gifs.eu/insects-love/0031.gif |
Welcome, Eddiem. I was a functional drinker, too. Been in and out for many years. I am now taking a course called New Wine at www.settingcaptivesfree.com and it's helping me immensely. You can also get help at Celebrate Recovery and/or AA meetings. Hope you keep coming back! There is hope!
